Airports and Flights

Incheon Airport (ICN) is the largest airport in Korea and serves as the main gateway hub for travelers visiting Korea. The airport consists of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Located in Seoul, Gimpo Airport (GMP) handles both cargo and passenger services, offering international flights to East Asian regions as well as domestic flights within Korea. .

Subway

Subway

Subway is one of the most convenient public transportation options in Korea. Subways operate in five major cities: Seoul (connecting Gyeonggi-do including Suwon, and Incheon, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, and Daejeon. To travel from Incheon Airport to Seoul, popular options include the Airport Railroad Express (AREX), Seoul Metropolitan Subway, and airport limousine buses. Taxi

Taxi

Taxis are a convenient way to reach your destination in Korea. Base fares vary by type: KRW 3,800 for regular taxis and KRW 6,500 for deluxe taxis (as of August 2022). Tcard

Transportation Card, T-Money

If you plan to travel to Seoul, Incheon or any metropolitan cities in Korea, T-money can be useful to take subway, bus, or taxi, just touching it for boarding. You can get the T-money card from a ticket vending inside subway stations or convenience stores. Travelers can reload and refund the card from the vending machine. Don’t forget that you must tap your card when boarding and getting off buses or entering and exiting subway stations. Electricity

The standard voltage in Korea is 220 volts at 60 Hertz, and the outlet has two round holes. You can purchase a multi-voltage travel adapter at the airport, retail stores, or convenience stores.

 

Currency and Credit Cards

The unit of Korean currency is Won (₩). Foreign currency can be exchanged into Korean Won (KRW) at foreign exchange banks and other authorized money exchangers. Credit cards, including VISA, American Express, Diners Club, Master Card and JCB, are accepted at major hotels, department stores, and restaurants.

 

Tax and Tipping

Value Added Tax (VAT) is levied on most goods at a standard rate of 10%. In major tourist spots, a 10% VAT plus a 10% service charge is added to the bills. Tipping is not necessary in hotels or taxis.

 

WiFi Service

Internet service is often provided in public places such as airports, train stations, and bus terminals in Korea. Fast food restaurants, cafes, or stores are also good places to access to WiFi. It is of course available on site during the conference.
